Reports to: Plant Manager / Senior Manager O&M

Position Purpose:

The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of solar PV plants under MSTS. This includes managing all preventive and corrective maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with Masdar’s O&M requirements, supervising technical teams, and maintaining high standards of reporting, documentation, and safety.

The role plays a key part in maximizing plant performance while safeguarding environmental, technical, and operational integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational & Technical Management

  • Lead, audit, and manage all O&M activities across solar PV projects.
  • Oversee maintenance of DC/AC/LV/MV/HV equipment and ensure continuous plant availability.
  • Analyze and document all preventive and corrective maintenance actions.
  • Monitor and optimize plant performance using technical expertise.
  • Maintain tool inventories, work orders, and site-level operational logs.

Safety, Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure full compliance with Masdar, lender, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct Safety Walks, QC assessments, risk evaluations, and incident investigations.
  • Participate in QHSE audits and enforce safety standards.

Reporting & Communication

  • Prepare comprehensive daily/weekly/monthly reports and performance summaries.
  • Manage insurance claims and follow through on corrective actions.
  • Communicate with subcontractors, suppliers, EPC contractors, lenders, and stakeholders.

Documentation & Procedure Management

  • Maintain technical documentation, drawings, procedures, and O&M management files.
  • Support development of O&M plans, procedures, and contract-related documentation.

Team Leadership

  • Supervise and develop technicians and site teams.
  • Set goals, monitor performance, and support upskilling.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 5–7 years of relevant experience (energy sector, preferably solar).
  • Strong knowledge of solar power systems, market components, and O&M processes.
  • Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills.
  • High attention to detail, ability to prioritize, and a strong sense of responsibility.
