  • Install, configure, and maintain SQL database servers.
  • Monitor database performance, optimize queries, and tune system resources.
  • Design and implement backup, recovery, and high-availability solutions.
  • Plan and execute database upgrades, migrations, and patch management.
  • Manage user access, roles, and security policies.
  • Optimize SQL queries and database schema design.
  • Collaborate with system and network teams to optimize infrastructure.
  • Maintain up-to-date technical documentation, including procedures and architecture diagrams.
  • Participate in on-call rotations for database incidents.
  • Collaborate with development teams on infrastructure and application improvements.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; Master’s degree is a plus.;
  • Work experience: Minimum 3 il.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate / DP-300.
  • SAP Certified Associate – Database Administrator – SAP HANA.
  • DAMA CDMP or other Data Management / Data Governance certification.
  • Previous Microsoft MCSA / MCSE SQL Server certifications.
  • Data Engineering or Analytics-related certifications. ITIL certifications.
  • Language skills: Azerbaijani, Russian and English languages;
  • Minimum 3 years of practical experience as a Database Administrator, Data Platform Administrator or similar role.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server in production environments.
  • Proven experience supporting large databases of 500 GB or larger.
  • Ability to diagnose disk space issues, LDF growth, tempdb problems and database corruption
  • Strong T-SQL skills for administration, troubleshooting and performance analysis.
  • Experience with DMV/DMF, wait statistics, execution plans, blocking and deadlocks.
  • Strong understanding and configuring of SQL Agent Jobs, maintenance jobs, alerts and monitoring, cost threshold, tempdb, indexes and statistics, backup and restore, transaction logs, recovery models and disaster recovery.
  • Experience with database growth monitoring and capacity planning.
  • Understanding of OLTP and OLAP workload differences.
  • Understanding of ETL/ELT principles and data pipeline operations.
  • Experience with Data Warehouse, Staging, ODS or Data Mart environments.
  • Strong SQL query optimization and data transformation skills.
  • Basic understanding of SAP S/4HANA and SAP HANA architecture.
  • Understanding of data quality, data validation and metadata management.
  • Ability to work with system administrators, SAP Basis consultants, 1C developers, data engineers, BI developers and business stakeholders.
  • Understanding of VMware or Hyper-V impact on database performance, including CPU Ready, memory ballooning, datastore latency and storage bottlenecks.
  • Understanding of Windows Server, Linux basics, service accounts, permissions and Event Viewer.
  • Ability to document changes and work according to change management procedures.

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience with SAP HANA database administration.
  • Experience working with SAP S/4HANA implementation, migration or integration projects.
  • Experience working with SAP Basis teams or SAP implementation partners.
  • Experience with Always On Availability Groups, Failover Cluster, Log Shipping or similar high availability technologies.
  • Experience with Apache Airflow, Apache NiFi, Kafka, Spark, Debezium, MinIO or similar data platform technologies.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL, Oracle, analytical databases or cloud data platforms.
  • Experience with Data Lake or Lakehouse architectures.
  • Knowledge of partitioning strategies, metadata management and data lifecycle management.
  • Experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau or similar.
  • Experience with data quality tools or frameworks such as Great Expectations, Collibra, Alation or similar.
  • Experience with API-based integrations, REST, JSON and system-to-system data flows.
  • Experience with AI/ML data preparation, feature datasets, historical data management and anomaly detection use cases.
  • PowerShell or Python automation skills.
  • Understanding of storage systems: IOPS, latency, queue length, RAID, SAN/NAS and datastore performance.
  • Experience in incident investigation and RCA report preparation.
  • Strong business communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
